The Sample Department Associate is responsible for; the inventorying and distribution of
upholstery and bedding fabric samples as well as organization of upholstery samples.
Responsibilities:
-Cut samples from inventory rolls and manufactured samples
-Understand and operate and industrial sewing/surging machine
-Maintain inventory on samples and sample books
-Communicate stock to sales and planning
-Demonstrate working knowledge of current upholstery lines
-Organize samples alphabetically per upholstery line
-Archive and catalogue fabrics coming from China, Belgium and Mexico
-Communicate with the Sales department to create a sample schedule
-Communicate with Customer Service, Design & Quality departments as needed
-Pull and price orders from Texware system
-Ship out fabric samples for upholstery as requested
-Track FedEx shipments and distribute packages that arrive at the Sample department
-Communicate tracking to sales team
-Learn responsibilities of each subdivision of the Sample department
-Ability to lift a roll of fabric & move furniture
-Maintain organization of sample department
